The Power of a Pivot: YouTube, Madonna, and Taking Sobervation to Latvia
The Power of a Pivot: YouTube, Madonna, and Taking Sobervation to Latvia
If you’ve been keeping an eye on our channels, you probably noticed the mic on theLife After Last Call podcast went a little quiet earlier this year. My last blog post here was on April 18th, and then... silence.
In recovery, we learn to listen to our instincts.
Earlier this year, I realized I needed a creative break. I needed a pivot. But in sobriety, "taking a break" doesn't mean standing still. It means redirecting your energy.
So, I decided to do something completely wild. I leaned headfirst into a lifelong passion of mine and launched a YouTube channel dedicated to the pop icon who soundtracked my life: Madonna
I started from absolute zero. I put my head down, focused on the craft of content creation, and started sharing deep dives, retrospectives, and honest commentary.
And things went wild. In just a few months, we went from 0 to over 2,600 subscribers. The channel is officially monetized, and I even have my first major brand deal locked in.
What does a Madonna fan channel have to do with a recovery streetwear brand?
Everything.
When I was drinking, my energy was scattered, wasted, and destructive. Sobriety gave me my mind back, but entrepreneurship taught me how to harness it.
The exact same drive, consistency, and passion that allowed me to build a monetized YouTube community from scratch is the energy I am bringing back to Sobervation.
I’m not closing one chapter to write another. I am running both at the highest level.
Sobriety isn’t about shrinking your life; it’s about expanding it.
Next Stop: Riga, Latvia
To take both of these creative fires to the next level, I am boarding a flight to Riga, Latvia in just a couple of weeks to attend Amplified by Printful.
For Sobervation, Printful is the powerhouse that manufactures and fulfills our premium gear. Going to their international hub in Europe is a massive opportunity to meet their team, see their state-of-the-art embroidery and printing setups firsthand, and learn how to level up our product quality.
But I’m also going as a monetized creator with a brand deal in hand. I'll be learning how to optimize global merchandising, scale production, and bring you the highest-quality streetwear we’ve ever dropped.
I am documenting this entire journey right here on the blog. We are going behind the scenes of the travel, the printing tech, and the creative hustle.
The blog is officially back. Thank you for sticking with me through the quiet chapters. It’s time to amplify everything.
